I feel most creative, curious and alive when I am in the mountains. This centers my work as an artist and field biologist. It also fuels my efforts to empower others across outdoor, art and science spaces. When I work with Inspiring Girls* Expeditions I strive to cultivate skills like observation, creative practices, field skills and teamwork, that deepen our understanding of ourselves, each other, and place. The Gulkana Glacier has a lot to teach us! At home in Washington state, I study wolverines, teach art and science, and communicate climate stories through my woodcut printmaking practice. I also enjoy skiing, cooking and playing with my two rambunctious little cats.
