My path has taken me from oceans to mountains, from microbiology to outdoor education. My graduate studies focused on algae in polar and alpine environments and I researched snow algae populations in the Pacific Northwest. I currently spend my time teaching CPR and wilderness first aid when not leading backcountry expeditions. I love searching for birds and wildflowers and am often found playing with clay, upside down on an aerial silk, or eating pastries from a local bakery.
As a member of the Inspiring Girls* Expeditions team, I hope to empower and encourage participants to explore and deepen their relationships with creative processes (e.g. science and art) while building a strong sense of connection to Gulkana Glacier.
